A new scheme has been established and implemented across England to help recruit graduates into children's social work.
The charity ‘Frontline’ was set up in 2013 and has already trained over 200 recruits in the South East and Manchester. Now with government backing Frontline are aiming to recruit 1000 graduates by 2020.
Data shows there were 4,320 children's social workers vacancies in 2014 in England alone. This initiative is likely an attempt to improve candidate attraction in this area which has previously struggled to recruit high level graduates.
Government ministers are clearly concerned with the quality of social workers and Ofsted inspections also suggest widespread issues.
Best of luck to Frontline on their endeavours!
