Small Business Saturday

Posted , By

On Saturday it was ‘Small Business Saturday’, the fifth of such events. I’m sad to say we were not involved in this years event but thoroughly plan to be next year. It’s such a fantastic event and one that we are super keen to support.

This year, the organisers organised a national bus tour with its aim being to raise awareness to the many million small businesses in the UK. The initiative was initially started by AMEX over 7 years ago and has clearly grown from strength to strength. You only had to see the trending hashtags on twitter for confirmation.

Small businesses really are the lifeblood of the British economy. We deal with small businesses and SMEs every single day from 3 person companies all the way up. When speaking with small business owners/founders/managing directors you really do appreciate the value they bring to our country. Small businesses contributed over 1.8T to the economy last year and employ 16.5 million people.

With this in mind, to support Small Business Saturday, I am going to dedicate my Monday slot in this blog to promoting a different small business every week until December 2018. Some of these small businesses will be our customers and some will be other businesses who have caught my eye for a variety of reasons. To help us make sure we don’t miss any fantastic small businesses we’re looking for inspiration!

Using this form you can help us out by nominating and suggesting any UK small business. We’ll review the entries and feature the most interesting businesses we can see.

There are 52 slots available and we will promote every feature via our social media channels.
